Hello everyone! Those of you who have been following for over a year remember Music Mondays. If you don’t, Music Mondays is a thing I used to do where I make a list of songs a post them with lyrics. At the end, I post the list with album art. I used to do it weekly but when I got hired where I work now, I didn’t have the time to do it so I stopped. I do this to give my followers a better idea of what I listen to and with the hopes that they might listen to something they’ve never listened to before and like it. Let’s get started and I hope you enjoy the music!

“Raptame del Fin” by Lucybell

I had been a fan of Lucybell for many years before Comiendo Fuego came out. It’s another album I can listen to from start to finish. Claudio Valenzuela’s voice on it’s own is just a beautiful instrument. The lyrics sometimes make no sense but just to listen to the music and the way he sings makes up for it. Other times, the lyrics are just amazing and so is the music. Just all around, a great band.

“12:51” by The Strokes

The years when I couldn’t stop listening to The Strokes. I still love them and their music but I don’t listen to them as much as I used to. Doesn’t mean I don’t like it though because I think all of their albums are amazing.

“Changes” by Seu Jorge

If you saw The Life Aquatic, you might know him as Pele, the guy playing David Bowie covers all over the boat. They released two soundtracks for the movie, one having almost all the music in the movie and the other are 14 tracks, including 13 David Bowie covers, by Seu Jorge all in Portuguese. It’s a beautiful spin on David Bowie’s songs.

Thanks to the 4 of you that listened. I don’t do these very often and I don’t know how long I want to keep doing them for. I might put an end to Music Mondays around New Year’s. I feel it’s too much effort for what little appreciation it gets now.

“Maybe You’re Gone” by Sondre Lerche

Sondre has always known what to say. I can relate to his music so much that I can make a musical of my life using his songs.

You have been waiting all your life
You use your patience to stay fine
Time moves on as you prepare
To tell yourself be reasonable
Then come the times you can’t foresee
You cannot leave, you can’t release
To keep you far from those dreams
Ignoring the right times
Oh, waiting was my life

For now it’s too late
For you may not wait
And things that I have yet to know
Vanish before they’re complete
I may turn around
To see if you’re still there
But as for now, it’s just not safe
Maybe you’ll wait for me
Maybe you’re gone

You’ve been preparing all your life
You’ve had some trouble getting it right
And you try to tell yourself it may work,
As it should
But something good can do much harm
The good may kill for your embrace
To keep you far from those dreams
You know you cannot dream
I’m stuck for now, it seems

“I Don’t Know” by Beastie Boys

What’s pleasing to the eye
In the delusion of my sight
Is not what I find when I reach into the light
I have lost my mind
I’m walking through time
Deluded as the next guy
Pretending and hoping to find
That distant peace of mind
I don’t know
Who does know
There is no
Where to go

It’s not so simple as I try to wish
But then again what is?
There is no other worthy quest
So on I go

“Ideas of Home” by The Wild

we left our homes, desperate for places far away from where we’re from. and I was afraid, thought I’d be lost without a map to guide my way, but I was in love…haunted by a ghost, an open road, freedom. these ideas of home saturate my mind like a southern rainstorm, and I fall to my knees when I realize that what’s real ain’t just what I believe, and so it seems that right where we are is right where we’re supposed to be. and now we see ourselves for what we really are…reflections in car windows as we look at the stars.
