With every moment that passes me by, that I let pass me by, a chance dies. I have lived too long not living by just watching. I have taken bad roads, not the wrong roads, mind you, but just bad ones. I have also not taken others out of fear of what might become of me. In doing that, I have done, or rather not done, something to myself. I have let something not become of me. I have not spoken when I needed to, I have not acted when I should have, and I have sat when I should have stood. In my lack of plays and folding my cards when I should have called or even raised, I lost a hand that could have been won. And why? They’re just chips anyway, right? We have an infinite number of them and we still think twice about putting them on the table. And here I am. I have lost chances with the minutes sitting, with the silence, with the doubt and the excuse of a car that is unready. It is time to act because my moment is. I am mine, I think it’s time I learned that about myself.
